JIGORO KANO


    Been born in 28 of October of 1860, in Mikage, district of Hyogo, son of Jirosaku Maresiba Kano, Jigoro Kano with only eleven years of age moved to Kioto to study the English language, then indispensable for the progress in any direction and that, it later made possible to become professor and translator of this language and still to mount its proper school in Tokyo, the Kobunkan.

    Galgou one by one the steps of Japanese Imperial Escala, arriving at as the degree after its death, occured in 4 of May of 1938, therefore, with 77 years of age, when it came back of the Cairo where it participated of the General meeting of the International Committee of the Olímpicos Games.

    Age of low stature, measuring 1,50 meter and its weight, proportional the height, did not go beyond 50 kilos. To dezessete years, it had its first professor, Fukuda master, of the school Heart of Willow, later, Iso master, and still Iikugo. It also searched knowledge in other schools, for in such a way studying with rare persistence, what it later allowed a little it to form a set of techniques, rules and principles that would come if to constitute the Judô that today we know.

    Formed for the Imperial university of Tokyo, in Aesthetic and Moral Letters and Sciences, in the year of its formation, 1882, it establishes its school, the Kodokan, in which it intended to stimulate a new method of fight, esportiva, intuitiva, more insurance and without the secrets that hindered a generalized spreading, so that all could usufruct, since children until adults of more advanced age.

    Its life was not known, nor marked and it did not reach the culminâncias alone through the Jiu-Jitsu and of the Judô, but its culture made possible to it to galgar high ranks in Ensino, the sport and the government of its country. He was professor, vice-president and director of the College of the Noblemen, attaché of the minister of the Imperial, advising House of the minister of the National, managing Education of Normal School Superior e, still, secretary of the National Education.

    It also established society and justinian codes for young and the first club of Baseball of Japan. It edited magazines, it travelled for the Europe and North America in cultural mission. He was still managing of the primary education, president of the Center of Studies of the Martial Arts and first Japonęs to belong to the Committee International Olímpico e, still, president of the Porting Federacy of Japan.

    Notadamente, for who I eat Kano also introduced the sport and the Physical Education in the educational plan of Japan, fact this that already would be the sufficient to perpetuate its name as educator and as esportista. The reward of Father of the Physical Education of Japan takes Jigoro Kano.       

            Still pupil of the Iikugo master, Jigoro Kano initiates the assembly of its school, the Kodokan, in February of 1882 and for this he invited some pupils of the Gakushuin College and of its school of English, the Kobunkan, several of which he lodged in the temple of Eishosi and he kept them to its expenseses. The first pupil was Tomita, that was always the hand Kano to test and to perfect the techniques that developed.

            The Tomita Yamashita, Shiro Saigo, Yokoyama, Nagaoka, Higushi, Nakajima, Arima and Amano had been followed Kai, and still, according to Terayama master, Matsuoka, Ysso Gay Kaso, Tobata Nobutaro and Toko Sambo. The Kodokan grew in size, in virtues and in the respect of the society and so that thus it continued, some norms had been instituted that the pupils promised to follow and for them they pledged its word.
